Saadiyat's Cultural District is the anchor of the island's identity: the Louvre Abu Dhabi opened first, with a Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum in various stages of development on the same district, positioning Saadiyat as the long-term centre of Abu Dhabi's museum scene.
A wide, natural, relatively uncrowded beach runs along the island's Gulf-facing side, lined by resort hotels but with public beach access points too. It's a genuinely different experience from a busy city beach — more space, calmer water, and a slower pace generally.
Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, a mangrove-fringed nature reserve on the island's inner side, and a small but growing dining scene round out the island, making it more than a one-attraction stop even outside museum hours.
